Introducing Strength Potential, a non-profit registered charity located on the picturesque Sunshine Coast, committed to empowering young people across South-East Queensland. Their mission is straightforward: they are dedicated to assisting young people in discovering their unique strengths, enabling them to reach their full potential, and, consequently, positively influencing the lives of others.
How do they achieve this mission? They do so through a diverse array of services, programs, and platforms tailored to support and nurture young people. Here is an overview of the offerings they provide:
- 1-on-1 Strength-Focused Mentoring
Strength Potential offers One-on-One Mentoring, a service that connects young individuals with skilled mentors who establish trust and rapport. Together, they work on identifying strengths and values, setting achievable goals, and delivering unwavering support to help young people reach their aspirations. To learn more, click here.
- Hot Chocolate Circle – Girl Group Therapy Program
The Hot Chocolate Circle is centred on creating a safe and supportive environment for girls to navigate their mental health journeys. Mental health challenges can be overwhelming and isolating, and often girls may feel hesitant to seek support. Strength Potential aim to break down these barriers which is why they have developed a unique approach to supporting girls. By sitting in a circle and sipping hot chocolate, they create a safe space for girls to share their experiences, support one another, gain insights, and develop practical evidence-based coping strategies to overcome mental health challenges. - 1-on-1 and Group Respite
Strength Potential offer a revitalising 2- to 14-night respite stays, providing comfortable accommodation, meals, and customised activities to cater to the unique needs and goals of young individuals. To learn more, click here.
- Group Holiday Activities
Strength Potential’s group activities are designed around shared interests, providing a social environment where young people can develop crucial social skills and establish lasting friendships.
- MiiND - Online Mental Health Platform for Young People
Created by Strength Potential, MiiND is a free, interactive mental health platform devoted to supporting the mental well-being of young people. Strength Potential believes that every young person deserves free, round-the-clock access to mental health resources. Through the MiiND website, young people can access a range of interactive workbooks covering mental health topics, online gratitude journals, mindfulness recordings, activity logs, and so much more. Parents, caregivers, and all other individuals involved in the mental health journey also have access to a community page and evidence-based resources. To learn more, click here.
